Hylo is a non-profit commons. There are no investors expecting returns. There are no shareholders demanding growth. The platform stays free because paid products and community contributions cover the cost of development, hosting, and the small team that maintains everything.
When a group pays for Pro, Assistant, Whitelabel, or stewardship support, that money goes to three places: compensating the people who build and maintain Hylo, funding platform development that benefits every group (including the free ones), and keeping the infrastructure running. Hylo is built to sustain a commons.
